There are two reasons to celebrate, therefore I have made Chocolate Barfi so that I can share my happiness with you everyone with this Barfi.

  1. My first reason is that it’s 19th October and it’s a Diwali time. I wish you all HAPPY AND PROPSEROUS DIWALI. May Goddess Laxmi bless you with all Happiness and Wealth. May all your wishes come true.
  2. Second reason is that I have crossed 50 FOLLOWERS. It’s being two months I am writing recipe blogs and enjoying at the same time. I want to thanks everyone who followed my blogs and supported and motivated me to post more recipes. I would like to reassure you that I will try my best to post more new and exciting recipes. Keep supporting and motivating me in future also.

Chocolate Barfi one of my most favorite Indian Sweet is a two layered barfi. Top layer is made of Chocolate and Mawa (Brown Layer) and bottom layer is a Plain Mawa (White Layer). It is very easy and quick recipe to make. It only requires time to set. Main ingredient of this sweet is Mawa or it can also be called as Khoya. Khoya is milk solid which is prepared by slowly simmering milk in a large wok till all its moisture gets evaporated.

Ingredients –

For Mawa Layer

  1. Mawa – 600 Gms.
  2. Sugar – 1 Cup
  3. Powdered Elaichi – 1 ½ Tbsp.

For Chocolate Layer

  1. Mawa – 400 Gms.
  2. Sugar – ¾ Cup
  3. Cocoa Powder – 3 Tbsp.

Method –

For Mawa Layer

  1. Crumble mawa in a bowl.
  2. Add sugar in it and mix both ingredients properly.
  3. Now add the mawa mixture in a wok and cook it on medium flame until mawa starts to melt.
  4. Add Elaichi powder in melted mixture and mix it.
  5. pread the mixture in the greased plate and keep it in fridge for 30 mins to allow it to set so that chocolate layer can be properly spread on it.

For Chocolate Layer

  1. Crumble mawa in a bowl.
  2. Add sugar and cocoa powder and mix them well with mawa.
  3. Now add mawa – cocoa mixture in a wok and cook it on medium flame until it starts to melt.
  4. Now spread the chocolate mixture on mawa mixture and keep it aside.
  5. It will take around 7-8 hours or overnight to set.
  6. After barfi is set, cut it into desired shape.
